- 2004 – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor of the Year
- 2009 – Co-creator – Martial Arts Instructional Website of the Year
He is also a Firearms instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, previously a forensic accountant and Naval Officer. Dan admits that BJJ is superior to any of his other interests and hobbies.
If you read the BJJ forums, you will find them covered with rumors dubbing Dan as one of the most “Passionate” BJJ instructors in the world.
