Anyone with a tie-dye Gi is 60% more likely to be a blogger.

Georgette Oden is a fan of a lot of things, but BJJ is certainly one of them. If you’ve stumbled onto her blog you’ll notice some ramblings about cooking, competitions, fighting cancer, tournament footage – its all in there somewhere.

Georgette’s Perspective on Blogging and Grappling:

“I enjoy reaching out to other people who train, of any level, gender, or skill-set. My main goals are to inform, share, network, get answers to my questions and support for my personal crises….  I hope beginners, especially, can find answers to questions on my blog and not have to learn things the hard way (especially about the emotional toll jiu jitsu can take on you, competition, hygiene, etiquette, and general consideration for your training partners.)”

Georgette is proudly sponsored by Black Eagle Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

If you read her blog you can tell that’s the essential gist of it. The emotional, sometimes political, sometimes kinda weird experience of BJJ as a whole – and the joys of grappling as well.

I also like that there’s a ton of awesome content about getting more out of training – like this article featuring Georgette’s insights on women learning BJJ. So yes there’s plenty of practical stuff in there as well.

Plus – the more I read, the more I want to get a gi and die it funny colors!

That’s inspiring for me,

-Dan Faggella

PS: Her blog also has a one of the most inclusive listings of BJJ-related blogs.
